I just wanted to show you all my completed Circle Journal.  I think it looks amazing and I'm so glad that I picked this simple yet full of information and small moments for my theme.  Very pleased with the results.  :)

So this past weekend was our Circle Journal Get Together.  4 out of the 5 of us were able to attend.  During our get together, we enjoyed Sangria...click here for the recipe, and snacked on some really good finger foods.  We enjoyed great conversation from music, Real Housewives of Atlanta, relationships, and of course the completed Circle Journals.  It was great being able to see all of the completed Circle Journals.  Everyone's books looked really good and you can tell that everyone put a lot of time and effort into making their entries look really good.  I'm looking forward to the next circle journal experience!

The last circle journal:  I Enjoy Being a Girl!!!!!  This is the last circle journal was mailed off last week.  It's amazing how time flies.  It seems as if we just started on this journey and here it is, we've come to the end!  This theme was about of course why we enjoy being a girl.  Here I showcased my thoughts on being a girl, made a mini collage of me and some of my girlfriends, along with a song by Vanessa Hudgens that I thought fit the theme nicely.  I finished my entry off with a snippet of my #1 favorite thing about being a girl!  :)  This weekend, the group will be getting together so we can share our completed books with each other.  I'm sooo looking forward to the get together and seeing everyone's completed album.  I will be sharing my completed album next week along with the invitation I created for the get together so stay tuned!

Circle Journal #4.......No Shades of Gray!  Great theme about not trusting our memories to remember everything.  For this them, we had to try to use only black and white, besides our photos.  I had a lot of photos and like Circle Journal #3:  My Favorite Things (where I decided to focus on my Top 12 of 2012), in this circle journal, I decided to again pay tribute to 2012, and showcase my Top 12 Moments/Memories of all time (up to the date the book was completed).  I had so many pictures I wanted to incorporate, but not enough space.  Then I ran into another issue with my pictures....a lot of the pictures were old, so I didn't have multiple copies, so I just scanned the pictures, but I really didn't like the quality....but I just had to make due.  So to solve the issue with the photos.....having too many pictures to showcase, I decided to make a small mini album on the page to ensure I had enough room to showcase my items.  I haven't done this technique since the first circle journal group I participated in, back in 2007, so it was fun to do this again.  I also took part in a new technique.  I added fabric to my layout, on the first page, I added black and white felt to my background paper using staples.  with the left over felt that I had, I added it to my second layout as just a side strip next to my journaling.  Overall, I like the memories I picked and I can't wait to look at this album many years from now and see what additional memories and thoughts that come to mind.

Happy Scrappin'!

For the next Circle Journal which I received, the theme was My Favorite Things.  I loved and had so much fun with this theme.  In honor of 2012, I decided to focus on my Top 12 Things/Events of 2012.  In November/December, Oprah's My Favorite Things was on news stands and on the OWN Network.  So I thought what better way to showcase my favorite things than by paying tribute to the O herself...Oprah!  I found this link on the Oprah.com website where you can add your head and captions on the cover of the magazine template.  I have to find the link again.  Once I do, I will post the link on the site.

Brandie's Circle Journal was the first one I received.  Her theme was The Girl In The Mirror.  I had to complete a 4-Page Layout, incorporate the mirror provided, add a quote on the tag provided, a poem that I felt went with the theme, at least two photos in a public mirror, and a page dedicated to those who have helped to make me the woman I am today.  Since I'm rarely in a public mirror, since I work int he home, I provided two pictures of myself, one in my bathroom mirror, and the other in my compact mirror.  The poem I selected was entitled "One," Author Unknown, which I received a while back in an email from Inspiration Peak a few weeks back.  I thought that the poem was fitting because we are only one person and any and all change which we would like to see must first depend on us.  So in looking in the mirror, we must know and believe that we are ONE person that can make a great impact on every life we come in contact with.  I dedicated my page to my family, because my DH and DDs have had such an important impact on my life.  I also dedicated my page to all who have touched my life from birth to now....because without them I would not be who I am today.
I had a great time doing this Circle Journal.  And am looking forward to receiving the next book.

P.S. if you're wondering about the girl on my poem layout, instructions on what I used to color her will be coming soon.  So stay tuned to my blog for more information.

Here it is the final draft....my completed Circle Journal ready to be mailed off to Monica!  Well actually we will be seeing each other so I will be hand delivering it to her...gotta save on postage when I can.  Again, I am so excited about this circle journal and seeing what themes everyone comes up with!  So here goes!

Happy Scrappin'

From November 2012 - January 2013, myself and 5 other ladies will be doing a circle journal.  For those of you who are new to Circle Journals, it is similar to a quilting group.  In this case there will be six of us.  Each of us will create our own themes for our books, we will then pass each book around, like until the circle (quilt) is complete and our completed book is returned back to us.  Click here to read a great blog post on the concept of the Circle Journals.
Pictured here is a Sneak Peak of the Title Page of my Circle Journal, where the theme will be The Slice of Life.  I will be posting pictures early next week of my completed book (well, up to my entry anyway, since the book won't actually be complete until January when it is returned to me).  This is actually my third time being a part of a Circle Journal.  Each time, I have enjoyed the process and I'm looking forward to this one!
